Characteristics

Protifar is a milk protein concentrate (90%), suitable as a nutritional supplement. A dietary food for special medical purposes. A nutritionally incomplete diet in powder form.
Intended for use in the dietary management of patients with high protein requirements (e.g. severe injuries and infections) and for patients who, for various reasons, do not consume sufficient protein from their normal diet. It is particularly suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding women, growing children, adolescents, convalescents, athletes and the elderly.
On the Dukan Diet, this protein is highly suitable for all phases, as it is very low in both fat and carbohydrates.

Usage

The measuring spoon provided
holds 2.5 g of Protifar, which is 2.2 g of protein. The amount of protein in 3 measuring spoons is equivalent to 200 ml of milk, 1 egg or 30 g of meat or fish. Due to its neutral taste, we recommend mixing Protifar into everyday ready-made meals, yoghurts or porridges, or taking it as a 30 per cent solution (30 g in 100 ml). The product can also be administered via a nasogastric tube.
On the Dukan Diet, we use the protein in baking to replace flour in both sweet and savoury doughs.

Storage

Store
in a cool, dry place. After each use, close the tin tightly with the lid. Once opened, use within a maximum of 6 weeks. Store any unused solution in the fridge for a maximum of 24 hours. Packaged in a modified atmosphere.
