MIYATA Shirataki Udon-style (udon noodles) are one variety of Shirataki pasta, which serve as a healthy alternative to traditional pasta. They are made from the root of a plant called Amorphophallus konjac, which is grown in various parts of Asia. Konjac contains glucomannan, a substance that aids fat burning and weight control. Among other things, it regulates blood sugar and lowers blood cholesterol. This makes konjac an ideal food for weight management and the prevention of obesity.
Konjac products are not only very healthy, as they are high in fibre, but also very diet-friendly, as they contain absolutely no fat or carbohydrates and are, moreover, gluten- and starch-free. They help to lower cholesterol, regulate blood sugar levels and aid weight loss. A major advantage of this pasta is that no matter how much you eat, you won’t put on weight!
Konjac pasta is suitable as part of a healthy diet, for weight management (weight loss), for low-carb eating, for vegans, diabetics, people with high cholesterol, and for those with an intolerance to wheat, gluten, lactose or soya.

Usage:
Once you’ve opened the packet, drain the pasta into a colander and rinse thoroughly to remove any unpleasant odour from the preserving liquid. Then cook for about 1 minute in salted water to warm the pasta through. Always serve the pasta with a sauce, gravy or vegetables, as shirataki has absolutely no flavour of its own and therefore takes on the flavour of the sauce, gravy or vegetables.
On the Dukan Diet, don’t forget the meat!
Storage:
Store at room temperature. Keep out of direct sunlight. Do not freeze.
Once opened, store in the fridge in a sealed container, together with the liquid, for a maximum of 48 hours
