A new white chocolate-flavoured spread with an excellent natural flavour, enriched with protein (whey protein isolate), with no added sugar. Contains maltitol (an alcohol-based sugar) with a caloric value approximately 70 per cent lower than that of ordinary sugar and a glycaemic index approximately half that of sucrose. The healthy fats, antioxidants and vitamins are provided by the ingredients used in production.
This chocolate spread from a Swedish manufacturer is designed for those who want to satisfy their sweet tooth with a ‘sweet treat’ whilst also providing the body with beneficial nutrients rather than empty calories. Proteinella, enriched with protein (whey protein isolate), contains no added sugar. The sugar content (just 8.5 g per 100 g) comes from the ingredients used in its production. The maltitol contained in Proteinella is actually a sugar alcohol with a calorie content around 70 per cent lower than that of ordinary sugar. A significant advantage of maltitol is that it has a glycaemic index about half that of sucrose (ordinary sugar), meaning it does not raise blood sugar levels in the same way as ordinary sugar. Proteinella is therefore ideal for those who wish to enjoy sweet treats, as well as for diabetics. Furthermore, it does not cause tooth decay, and part of this sugar alcohol is not absorbed into the bloodstream.
