Shirataki noodles, shaped like thick spaghetti, contain almost no calories and are free from fat, sugars, protein and gluten. The fibre present in the product contains trace amounts of carbohydrates in the form of glucomannan, which is almost indigestible by the human body. Only a negligible amount is digested in the small intestine, which is why the energy value of shirataki noodles is just 8 kcal per 100 g.
Shirataki is soaked in a liquid with a characteristic odour, which disappears completely when rinsed under cold running water and is not noticeable at all in the finished dish. Shirataki FIT has no taste or smell of its own – it takes on the flavour and aroma of the sauce, soup or other ingredients in the dish with which it is mixed. It
is made from the root of a plant called Amorphophallus konjac, grown in various parts of Asia. Konjac contains glucomannan, a substance that aids fat burning and weight control. Among other things, it regulates blood sugar levels and reduces blood cholesterol. This makes konjac an ideal food for weight management and the prevention of obesity.
Konjac products are not only very healthy, as they are rich in fibre, but they are also very diet-friendly, as they contain absolutely no fat or carbohydrates and are, moreover, gluten-free and starch-free. They help to lower cholesterol, regulate blood sugar levels and aid weight loss. A major advantage of this pasta is that no matter how much you eat, you won’t put on weight!

Usage:
Once you’ve opened the packet, pour the pasta into a colander and rinse it thoroughly. Then cook it for about 1 minute in salted water to warm it through. Always serve the pasta with a sauce, gravy or vegetables, as shirataki has absolutely no flavour of its own and therefore takes on the flavour of the sauce, gravy or vegetables.
Don’t forget the meat on the Dukan Diet!
Storage:
Store at room temperature. Keep out of direct sunlight. Do not freeze.
Once opened, store in the fridge in a sealed container, together with the liquid, for a maximum of 48 hours
